the game performance was the same when the cpu speed was 2900mhz, 3400mhz, 3700mhz or 4300mhz. again the cpu speed was fluctuating and it was mostly on 4300mhz and the temperature was above 80 degrees celcius i then set the speed shift epp to 50 and i ran the game. again the cpu speed was fluctuating and it was mostly on 3400mhz or 3700mhz and the temperature was between 70 degrees celcius and 80 degrees celcius. i then set the speed shift epp to 100 and i ran the game. i ran the game at that value and i saw that the cpu speed was fluctuating but it was mostly on 2900mhz and the temperature was between 60 degrees celcius and 70 degrees celcius. The default value of speed shift epp is 128. i know that 0 means push the cpu to the maximum and 255 means to use the cpu very little ![]() that's good but the problem is that i lost my cpu turbo boostĪfter that i started experimenting with the speed shift epp setting in throttle stop. the cpu speed was fixed at 2900mhz and the temperature dropped a lot and it was between 60 degrees celcius and 70 degrees celcius. there are some games that really push the computer and cause high temperaturesĪfter that i set the maximum processor state to 99% in the advanced power settings and then i ran the game. i noticed that the cpu speed was often on 4300mhz and that the temperature was in high 80 degrees celcius and it sometimes reached high 90s. I was playing a high end demanding game without throttle stop and i monitored the cpu speed and temperatures by using msi afterburner. the specs are NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 with 8gb dedicated ram, 32gb ram, 8th Generation Intel Core i9-8 950HK (6-Core, 12MB Cache, up to 4.8GHz w/ Turbo Boost) processor and windows 10 build 1809
